George Michael – Authenticity Through Music

George Michael was no doubt looked upon as a significant cultural icon. His music garnished many prestigious awards throughout his career. With all the accolades George received, he didn’t want to be regarded as a singer-songwriter with no substance. George, despite his success, battled many years of depression after losing his mother and his partner within a few years of each other. Hiding his sexuality also took a deep psychological toll on him. As a result, George turned to drugs that resulted in time spent in prison. He persevered by continuing to perform.
